All India Food Processors' Association (AIFPA) was established in the year 1943 by visionary pioneers who perceived the urgent need for scientific management of India's vast agri-resources through development and promotion of a robust Food Processing Industry (FPI) and to make wholesome food at an affordable cost for everyone in the country. This great vision paved the way for the development of a technology oriented Agro-Food Sector.
From a humble beginning, the Indian Food Processing Industry today is poised to be worth INR 19.50 lakh crore by 2020.
The prime objectives of the Association include the following:-
To promote, encourage and support Indian Food Processing Industries and raise the technical standards, product quality and safety to match global standards.
To actively participate in evolving quality standards & safety measures under the Food Safety and Standards Act-2006.
To seek redressal of the problems of the food industry that impedes their growth and development.
