FSSAI’s new directions regarding disposal of Used Cooking Oil (UCO)

As per a new direction released by FSSAI regarding used cooking oil or UCO (edible oils with total polar compounds more than 25%).

All Food Business Operators (FBOs) whose consumption of edible oil & fats for frying is more than 50 litres per day are required to maintain a record for the quantity of oil used and disposed in the format mentioned by the Food Authority.

Used cooking oil shall be disposed-off by such FBOs to FSSAI authorized agencies such as manufacturers of biodiesel, soap, lubricant, candles etc.
